Daniel Smith heads the trade marks practice at LegalVision. In his first two years at LegalVision he has overseen prosecution of over 700 Australian trade mark applications, and assisted numerous large and small clients with international registration, trade mark enforcement, defending against infringement claims, trade mark oppositions, and removal of trade marks for non-use. Prior to joining LegalVision, Daniel worked in small, medium, and large law firms in Australia and the UK, both in Intellectual Property protection and litigation management. He has assisted clients ranging from sole traders to multi-national financial institutions and governments and is committed to providing top-notch legal advice to clients large and small.
Catherine Logan has practiced in Australian IP law, including trade marks, for the past 30 years. She currently heads up the IP team at LegalVision. Catherine has advised clients from large and small business and dozens of different industries during that time. She has advised hundreds of clients on protecting their existing brands, argued the toss with trade mark examiners, assisted parties to work out their trade mark disputes and helped them come up with trade mark strategies to ensure the long term protection and success of their brands.
Raya Barcelon is a lawyer and trade marks attorney with more than 4 years’ experience in the registration and prosecution of domestic and international trade marks. During her time at LegalVision, Raya has advised and acted for hundreds of clients in relation to trade mark prosecution, trade mark disputes, domain name disputes, Australian Consumer Law and passing off matters. Prior to joining LegalVision, Raya was a Senior Trade Mark Examiner at IP Australia. This gives her a unique insight on how examiners make trade mark registrability decisions and the best strategies to overcome objections.
